No More Poverty: Moderately Prosperous Society

Before the Wuhan Lockdown in the beginning of 2020, the CPC (Communist Party of China) heavily invested in the New Year’s Festivals, especially in Wuhan. Their festival was a propaganda tool promoting that Xi Jinping has achieved what his predecessors couldn’t: make China a moderately prosperous society in all respects. “Moderately prosperous society” was originally used to describe a functional middle-class society in Confucianism. In the current context, it essentially means that as long as a person is a hard worker, they should be able to live a comfortable middle-class life in China. This was to resolve the extreme poverty in rural areas. We thank and honor Xi Jinping for “eliminating absolute poverty.”
